Saudi-backed forces raid STC’ headquarters in Seiyun

SEIYUN, April 27 (YPA) – Saudi-backed forces raided on Monday the headquarters of the UAE-backed “dissolved” Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Seiyun, the administrative center of the Wadi Hadramout districts in eastern Yemen, on Monday.

A local source reported that a group of armed men arrived in Saudi military vehicles, stormed the STC’s headquarters in the city, and vandalized its contents.

According to the source, the armed men, some of whom are believed to be loyal to the Islah Party, tore down the Southern Transitional Council’s slogans, removed and destroyed the identification signs from the building, in an act described as “provocative.”

The source confirmed that the forces arrested a member of the STC who was present inside the headquarters at the time of the raid, and then closed it.

The Saudi-backed “Emergency” forces were widely deployed in the streets and entrances of residential neighborhoods in Seiyun, in anticipation of any possible reactions to the incident, the source added.
