Meteorology forecasts heavy rainfall across several Yemeni provinces

SANAA, April 24 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast rainfall of varying intensity across several Yemeni provinces in the coming 24 hours.

In its latest weather bulletin issued on Friday, the center said moderate to heavy thundery rain is expected in Saada, Ibb, Raymah, Mahwit, Hajjah, Dhamar, Taiz, Sanaa, Amran, and the Tihama Plain.

It added that scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in areas of Al-Dhalea, Lahj, Al-Bayda, and the western parts of Al-Jawf and Marib.

The Center have warned residents to avoid valleys and flood channels due to the risk of flash floods during and after rainfall.

It also advised the public to avoid exposure to thunderstorms and to stay away from electrical poles and tall trees.

Further warnings were issued over possible rockfalls, landslides, and reduced horizontal visibility on roads, particularly in mountainous areas, due to rainfall and fog.
