Pezeshkian: IRGC has safeguarded Iran for decades, demonstrates strong defense capability

TEHRAN, April 22 (YPA) – Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Wednesday that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps IRGC), alongside the Iranian Army and the Popular Mobilization Forces, has over four decades succeeded in confronting a wide range of internal and external threats, serving as a strong defensive shield for the country.

According to Fars News Agency, Pezeshkian made the remarks in a message marking the anniversary of the IRGC’s founding, stating that the institution had thwarted the hostile plans and objectives during conflicts imposed on Iran by the United States and Israeli entity.

He added that the IRGC’s “decisive, calculated and effective” responses to these challenges demonstrate the country’s advanced defense capabilities and reflect the resolve of the Iranian people in the face of external pressure and attempts at domination.

Pezeshkian also highlighted the force’s broader role beyond military duties, noting its contributions to national development and public services through its technical and scientific capacities in support of the population under various conditions.
