Meteorology predicts scattered rain hot weather over Yemeni governorates

SANAA, April. 21 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning reported that the unstable weather conditions are contributing to the flow of moisture from the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden and the formation of cumulonimbus clouds over the western highlands.

In its weather bulletin, the center predicted scattered rainfall, possibly accompanied by thunder, over parts of the governorates of Sana’a, Amran, Saada, Hajjah, Al Mahweet, Raymah, Dhamar, Ibb, and Taiz during the next two days, with the weather system expanding later.

It also predicted that temperatures would continue to rise in the deserts and coastal plains, with highs ranging between 36 and 42 degrees celsius.

The center warned citizens in the deserts and coastal plains about the hot weather and advised against exposure to sunlight during midday.

It also warned citizens in the mountainous areas expected to receive rainfall about flash floods in ravines and valleys, and advised against being in their paths or risking crossing them during and after rainfall.
