LOUISIANA, April 20 (YPA) – Police in Shreveport, Louisiana, said Sunday that eight children aged between one and 14 were killed in a series of domestic violence-related shootings at multiple homes early in the day.
The police’s spokesperson Christopher Bordelon said the suspect fled in a stolen vehicle before being fatally shot by officers during a pursuit. He noted that some of the victims were relatives of the suspect, describing the scene as “horrific and unprecedented.”
Authorities said the shootings spanned three locations and left at least ten others injured, without providing details on their conditions.
Police Chief Wayne Smith expressed shock over the incident, while Mayor Tom Arceneaux called it “tragic and perhaps the worst we have ever seen.”
Police urged anyone with information or visual evidence to come forward and assist investigators.
