OCCUPIED PALESTINE, April 19 (YPA) – The UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, on Sunday described the Israeli military as “one of the most depraved armies,” amid ongoing Israeli violations against Palestinians, including children and their property.
Albanese wrote in a post on X, attached to a video showing Israeli soldiers mistreating a Palestinian child: “I have seen enough to say it with absolute certainty: the Israeli army is the most depraved army.”
Days earlier, Albanese said her life has become “a rollercoaster” after receiving death threats and facing sanctions for accusing Israel of committing genocide in the war on Gaza Strip.
In an interview with The Guardian, Albanese said she has endured intense personal pressure, including threats to her family and financial restrictions, after publicly criticizing Israel’s military campaign and the role of Western governments and corporations in supporting it. The measures taken against her, including sanctions by the United States, were described as unprecedented against a United Nations official.
