TEHRAN, April 18 (YPA) – Iranian Ground Forces Commander Brigadier General Ali Jahanshahi stated on Friday that Iranian forces were awaiting any attempt by the US at a ground invasion to turn Iran’s borders into a graveyard for aggressors.
In a statement, Jahanshahi said the Iranian army had deployed “all necessary equipment on the Iranian borders before the outbreak of war,” noting that during the “third imposed war,” border forces were reinforced through the deployment of armored assault units, as well as drone and missile units.
He added that “the enemy must bury the dream of a ground attack on the borders of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” stressing that Iranian forces were in full readiness to confront any potential ground incursion.
The commander also asserted that “the failure of the American-Zionist hostile operation in the south of Isfahan province played a role in forcing the enemies to accept a ceasefire,” adding that “all necessary assessments and measures were taken to defeat the enemy in the south of Isfahan province before they carried out their operation.”
He further stated that “the unified attack by fighters of the Islamic Republic of Iran prevented the enemy from executing its operation,” urging the Iranian public to remain “completely reassured regarding the defense of Iran’s borders.”
