Trump announces 10-day ceasefire between Lebanon, Israeli entity

WASHINGTON, April 16 (YPA) – US President Donald Trump has announced that a ceasefire between Lebanon and “Israel” will take effect starting midnight this Thursday for a duration of 10 days.

The announcement followed high-level talks with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump intends to invite Aoun and Netanyahu to Washington for the first “serious peace talks” since 1983.

US Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Rubio have been directed to work toward achieving a “lasting peace.”

MP Hassan Fadlallah (Hezbollah) stated that commitment to the truce depends on the cessation of Israeli aggression, noting that the resistance will closely monitor actual compliance on the ground.

Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri and his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, emphasized the priority of the ceasefire.

Meanwhile, Tehran has linked the resumption of its negotiations with Washington to the successful implementation of this agreement.
