Iran’s president warns Israeli strikes on Lebanon undermine ceasefire

TEHRAN, April 09 (YPA) – Iran’s president Masoud Pezeshkian said on Thursday that repeated Israeli occupation’s strikes on Lebanon constitute a flagrant violation of the initial ceasefire agreement and signal a lack of commitment to potential deals.

In a post on X, Pezeshkian warned that continued attacks would render negotiations meaningless, stressing that Iran remains ready to respond and will not abandon its allies in Lebanon.

His remarks came after the occupation forces carried out large-scale airstrikes on several Lebanese cities, including Beirut, Sidon, and Baalbek, less than ten hours after a ceasefire with Iran was announced, leading to the death of hundreds of martyrs and wounded, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, amid a large influx of the injured to hospitals.
