Academics from 4 universities demonstrate in Aden to demand their dues

ADEN, April. 08 (YPA) – Academics from the universities of Aden, Lahj, Abyan, and Shabwa organized a sit-in in front of the Ministry of Finance office in the Saudi-backed government, demanding their outstanding academic promotion and job settlement entitlements.

The participants affirmed that their demonstration was to demand their legitimate rights to the outstanding job and financial settlements that have remained suspended since 2018, despite their fulfillment of all the necessary legal and procedural requirements for academic promotions.

The demonstration featured banners expressing the participants’ discontent with the continued delay in the settlements, emphasizing that “fairness to academics represents fairness to those who build generations.”

The academics also appealed to the relevant authorities for immediate intervention to redress the injustice inflicted upon them and to work diligently to release the suspended settlements.
