STC escalates against Saudi presence, calls for mass protests tomorrow
ADEN, April 06 (YPA) – The dissolved Southern Transitional Council (STC) loyal to the UAE has announced organized mass protests across Aden and other southern governorates tomorrow, Tuesday.
The demonstrations aim to denounce what the council termed “Saudi violations” and express solidarity with the people of Hadramout following recent clashes in Mukalla.
In statements issued by its branches in the governorates, the council reaffirmed its opposition to attempts to re-empower “extremist forces” in the political and security landscape, calling for international intervention to curb ongoing violations.
Pro-STC media discourse has intensified, with activists advocating for “armed struggle” as the sole remaining option to end the Saudi presence, citing a complete deadlock in political negotiations.
Anti-Saudi slogans were reported within the “Bir Ahmed” camp in Aden, alongside political demands to seize control of state institutions and “purge” them of foreign influence.
These developments signal a significant shift in Yemen’s southern arena, with observers warning of a potential total collapse of the current security status quo.
