Israeli occupation launches ground invasion of south Lebanon

OCCUPIED PALESTINE,  March 16 (YPA) – Israeli occupation military announced the launch of a ground invasion targeting Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, claiming the objective is to strengthen frontline defenses and dismantle military infrastructure.

On the ground, Israeli forces have been attempting to advance in southern Lebanon for several days, facing persistent resistance from Hezbollah fighters, according to Al Mayadeen website.

The most intense clashes have occurred around the strategic town of Al-Khiam, where Islamic Resistance fighters engage Israeli troops at “close range” using light and medium weapons as well as rocket projectiles, resulting in reported Israeli casualties.

This latest ground incursion comes after repeated failures by “Israel” to establish stable positions along the border.

The announcement coincides with an intensification of Hezbollah’s rocket attacks and drone strikes targeting Israeli soldiers in northern outposts and settlements, with some projectiles reaching Tel Aviv.
