Switzerland rejects US requests for overflights by aircraft linked to war with Iran

BERN, March 15 (YPA) – The Swiss government announced on Saturday that it had reviewed requests from US military and official aircraft to fly over its territory, rejecting two and approving three based on Swiss neutrality law.

The government stated, “The neutrality law prohibits overflights by aircraft belonging to parties to a conflict that serve military purposes related to the conflict. Overflights are permitted for humanitarian and medical purposes, including the evacuation of the wounded, as well as for flights unrelated to the conflict.”
