IRGC shoots down 116 advanced drones including MQ-9 Reaper, IAI Heron

TEHRAN, March 14 (YPA) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that its air defense systems had shot down an armed Hermes drone over the skies of Tehran on Saturday.

Iranian military officials also said the destruction of another Orbiter drone in the capital’s airspace. According to the military, the total number of US and Israeli drones downed so far has reached 116.

Officials added that more than 80 percent of the intercepted aircraft are considered among the most advanced combat drones, including models such as the MQ-9 Reaper, IAI Heron, and Hermes drone.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for Iran’s Defense Ministry, Reza Talaei-Nik, stated that the Iranian Armed Forces would continue their operations until threats are eliminated, the enemy was severely punished, and compensation was obtained.
