Hebrew media: One-third of Israeli settlers left unprotected amid rising attacks

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, March 11 (YPA) – An emergency debate in the Israeli Knesset revealed that 3.2 million Israelis remain unprotected under fire without standard fortifications, while Israeli Home front continues to face dozens of rockets and drones, according to the Israeli news site MS.

The emergency session, jointly convened by the State Control Committee and the Committee for Strengthening the Negev and Galilee, was opened by State Control Committee chairman, Knesset member Alon Schuster, who warned: “The home front has once again become a frontline, and hundreds of thousands of citizens remain in serious danger.”

The report presented during the session indicated significant gaps in civil defense preparedness.

Since 2018, the rate of unfortified areas has increased by 5.6%, and a quarter of Israeli students attend schools without adequate protection.

The report also noted that the situation is particularly severe in northern settlements, where within a 9-kilometer range of the border, one-fifth of residents remain unprotected.
