26 Lebanese residents killed in Israeli airstrikes on town in eastern Lebanon

BEIRUT, March 07 (YPA) – At least 26 people were killed early Saturday in a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting the town of Nabi Chit in the Bekaa region of eastern Lebanon.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes launched 40 airstrikes on the center and outskirts of Nabi Chit, the surrounding mountains, and neighboring villages.

The strikes followed the discovery of an Israeli commando unit that had landed in the area using four Apache helicopters, resulting in the killing of 26 Lebanese residents.
