BAGHDAD, March 06 (YPA) – The French company TotalEnergies SE has evacuated its employees from its projects in the southern Iraqi city of Basra, an official in the Iraqi oil sector said on Friday.
According to Reuters, the company decided on Thursday to withdraw its staff from its projects in Basra as a precautionary measure amid rising regional tensions following the recent U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.
On Saturday, February 28, the United States and Israeli enemy reportedly carried out new attacks on Iran that resulted in hundreds of civilian casualties and targeted sites including schools, hospitals, mosques, and other civilian infrastructure.
In response, Iran announced the launch of an operation of “True Promise 4,” targeting Israeli positions and U.S. military bases in the region.
