Child run over by car of minister in Saudi-backed government in Aden

ADEN, March. 06 (YPA) – A child run over by a car belonging to a minister in the Saudi-backed government, sparking widespread outrage among residents in Aden province, local sources reported.

The sources confirmed that the child, Mohammed Nasser Saeed, succumbed to his severe injuries after being run over by a vehicle in the convoy of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar al-Yafei.

The sources reported that the incident took place in al-Khasaf area of ​​Crater district, explaining that the convoy of Minister al-Yafei, affiliated with the dissolved Southern Transitional Council, was speeding recklessly through a densely populated residential neighborhood.

Citizens transferred the child to one of city’s hospitals in an attempt to save him, but he died upon arrival, the sources added.

The incident ignited public anger among residents of the area, who condemned the disregard shown by official convoys of ministers and officials for the lives of civilians in residential areas.

In addition, the residents of Al-Khasaf area demanded an urgent and transparent investigation into the incident and that those responsible be held legally accountable, emphasizing that children’s blood is not cheap enough to be sacrificed for reckless speeding in the city’s streets and neighborhoods.
