ASIR, Aug. 4 (YPA) – The Yemeni army’s drone raids on Saturday targeted the warplanes airfields at the King Khalid Air Base in Asir region, resulting in a large destruction of F-16 and F-15 aircrafts, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.
Earlier the day, the army’s unmanned drone of Qasef-1 type waged air raids on the King Khalid base near Khamis Mushait area in the South-west of Saudi Arabia.
The King Khalid Air Base is used by the Saudi-led coalition forces for launching raids on civilian targets in Yemen. It is located 200 kilometers from the Yemeni border. It was established by the US forces to keep up with the hostile American intentions towards Yemen and the Arabian Peninsula.
Headquarters of the southern region command of Saudi forces is also located in the base, in addition to a number of Saudi military colleges.
