SAADA, Feb. 25 (YPA) – Security authorities in Saada governorate said they documented 88 violations by Saudi forces in the province’s northern border areas during the past month of Shaaban 1447 AH, reporting that the violations resulted in 88 civilian casualties.
According to a statistical report issued by Saada’s security department, the violations included 27 artillery strikes by Saudi forces targeting border villages and surrounding areas, as well as 61 instances of direct gunfire by Saudi border guards aimed at civilians.
The report stated that shootings by Saudi border guards in frontier districts left six civilians dead and 55 others seriously injured.
It added that Saudi ground artillery shelling killed one civilian and wounded 26 others, all described as suffering severe injuries.
Saada security officials said the attacks constitute flagrant violations of international law and norms, adding that they form part of a pattern of systematic offenses targeting residents of border districts in the governorate.
