Sanaa: Emergency Committee approves measures to raise readiness, bolster civil defense capabilities

SANAA, Feb. 22 (YPA) – The Emergency Committee, chaired by Acting Prime Minister Mohamed Miftah, approved a series of urgent measures on Saturday to elevate readiness across various sectors in anticipation of any developments or emergencies in the coming period.

A primary focus on strengthening the Civil Defense Authority as the backbone of rescue operations, providing it with the necessary human resources, financial support, and equipment to enhance operational efficiency.

The committee also discussed endorsing measures aimed at boosting effective response capabilities for various potential scenarios at both central and local levels.

The meeting emphasized that the exceptional circumstances facing Yemen necessitate maintaining comprehensive readiness across all agencies to handle any sudden developments and minimize human and material losses.

These moves come as part of the government’s efforts to develop the emergency management system and ensure effective coordination between different entities to face current challenges.
