SANAA, Feb. 20 (YPA) – Armed clashes broke out in Busra al-Sham city in the eastern Daraa countryside, resulting in one death and one injury, while the Internal Security Forces of the Syrian Transitional Government announced a curfew in the city until further notice, Hawar news Agency reported.

According to the agency, the clashes erupted between government forces and unidentified gunmen, amidst heightened tension in the city’s neighborhoods, which prompted authorities to take immediate measures to contain the situation and prevent the clashes from spreading.

Local sources reported that the clashes were concentrated around the home of former Eighth Brigade commander Ahmed Awda, further complicating the security situation, with warnings of a possible escalation and expansion of violence in the coming hours.

It should be noted that the curfew was imposed as a precautionary measure aimed at restoring order on the ground and preventing the movement of gunmen within the city, while no further official details have yet been released regarding the circumstances of the incident or the identity of the gunmen.

Separately, a young man was injured by gunfire from unknown people on the road between the towns of Tafas and Da’el in Daraa countryside, which reflects the continued tension and security breakdown in various parts of the governorate.
