88 Palestinian martyrs died inside occupation’s prisons since Gaza war

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Feb. 15 (YPA) -The Palestinian Prisoners Club announced on Sunday that the number of Palestinian prisoners whose identities have been revealed as martyrs since the start of the Gaza war has risen to 88, including 52 from the Gaza Strip, following the announcement of the death of detained paramedic Hatem Rayyan in Israeli prisons.

In a statement, the club explained that the prisoners died as a result of torture, starvation, medical negligence, and systematic sexual assault, in addition to deprivation, abuse, humiliation, and detention in conditions that violate human dignity, amid an unprecedented escalation of violations within detention centers.

It noted that a number of detainees from Gaza remain forcibly disappeared, along with dozens who were subjected to extrajudicial killings, stressing that the bodies and remains handed over after the ceasefire constituted evidence of extrajudicial killings of prisoners.

The club affirmed that the current period is the bloodiest in the history of the Palestinian prisoners’ movement, bringing the total number of identified Palestinian prisoners who have died in Israeli custody since 1967 to 325.
