UN official expresses condolences, condemnation of crimes in Hodeidah

SANAA, Aug 4 (YPA) – The UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen, Lise Grande expressed her condolences and condemnation of the two horrific crimes in Hodeidah province.

In a phone call with the Minister of Public Health and Population, Taha al-Mutawakil, Grande said that the continuation of the war in Yemen will have catastrophic effects on Yemen in general and the health sector in particular.

Grande expressed her readiness to provide support to rescue the wounded and assist the Ministry of Health in the provision of health facilities , in addition to the success of the national campaign to combat the cholera epidemic, which will be launched on Saturday.

In his part, al-Mutawakil expressed his regret for the slow response of the international organizations working in Yemen in dealing with the crimes committed by the coalition against the Yemeni people.

Al-Mutawakil expressed the hope in providing positive support from organizations with the efforts of the ministry and providing assistance to hospitals and health facilities in the province of Hodeidah and other provinces.
