UN envoy briefs Security Council on latest developments in Yemen
NEW YORK, Feb. 12 (YPA) -The Office of the UN Special Envoy to Yemen announced that Special Envoy Hans Grundberg will brief the UN Security Council via video conference later this evening on the situation in Yemen.
This briefing, which is scheduled, comes as part of the monthly sessions dedicated to discussing political, security and humanitarian developments in the country.
The briefing follows Grundberg’s three-day diplomatic visit to the Saudi capital, Riyadh (February 10-12), during which he held a series of meetings with the head of the Saudi-backed government, Shallal Shayea, and representatives of the five permanent members of the Security Council.
The UN envoy’s discussions in Riyadh focused on three main tracks: the economic track, de-escalation, and the political process.
