Popular US campaign pressures Congress to halt arms shipments to “Israel”

WASHINGTON, Feb. 04 (YPA) – Activists and human rights organizations in the United States have launched a broad popular campaign aims to pressure Congress to halt the transfer of weapons to “Israel.”

The campaign comes in response to Congress’s approval of a new arms deal for Israel valued at $6.6 billion, which has sparked widespread anger and criticism among segments of the American public. Critics argue that taxpayers’ money is being used to support military operations instead of addressing domestic needs.

The campaign, known as “Block the Bomb,” is leading popular and media-driven efforts urging citizens to contact their elected representatives and demand the use of constitutional powers to block the implementation of arms deals.

The initiative seeks to push Congress to suspend or freeze military support and to condition any future assistance on respect for international law and human rights.
