Israeli occupation demands residents of homes near Nur Shams camp in West Bank evacuate

WEST BANK, Feb. 02 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces demanded on Monday that residents of homes near Nur Shams refugee camp in the West Bank evacuate in preparation for a demolition.

Tulkarm Governor, Dr. Abdullah Kamil stated that the extension of the occupation forces’ aggression against the residents of Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps until the end of March 2026, is part of their intransigence and disregard for the international community and human rights organizations, and constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, human rights laws, and all international conventions and norms.

In a press statement, Dr. Kamil explained that the continuation of the occupation’s aggression exacerbates the human suffering, especially in light of the forced displacement of the camp residents, accompanied by systematic destruction of infrastructure, widespread demolition of homes, and other acts of sabotage and destruction affecting various aspects of life.

He reiterated his call to the international community, human rights organizations, all diplomatic missions and embassies, and relevant parties to work diligently and immediately to pressure the occupation to stop the ongoing crimes against our people in Tulkarm governorate in general, and in Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps in particular.

The governor emphasized that the objectives of this aggression are political and fall within the framework of a plan aimed at eliminating the national project. However, the Palestinian people and their leadership are on their way to thwarting all plans and advancing towards freedom and the establishment of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

He called on our people to be patient, steadfast, and united in confronting the plans of the settler government.
