Death toll of Israeli genocide war in Gaza exceeds 243,000 martyrs, wounded

GAZA, Jan. 24 (YPA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced, on Saturday, that the cumulative death toll from the Israeli genocide in the Strip has risen to 71,654 martyrs and 171,391 injuries since the start of the Zionist aggression on October 7, 2023.

In its daily statistical report, the Gaza Health Ministry stated that hospitals in the Gaza Strip received 4 new martyrs and 12 injuries during the past 48 hours.

It noted that 88 martyrs were added to the cumulative death toll, whose data was completed and approved by the Martyrs’ Approval Committee between January 16, 2026, and January 23, 2026.

“Many victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense teams are unable to reach them at this moment,” the ministry added.

Moreover, it revealed that the death toll since the ceasefire on October 11th has reached 481 martyrs and 1,313 injuries, in addition to the recovery of the bodies of 713 martyrs.

It also announced the death of three-month-old Ali Abu Zur due to the extreme cold at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, bringing the number of child deaths due to the cold since the beginning of winter to 10.
