BEIRUT, Jan. 23 (YPA) – Israeli violations and attacks continued in southern Lebanon, whereas an Israeli drone targeted the Riyaq-Baalbek highway, near the town of Ansar in the northeastern Bekaa valley, local sources reported.
The sources indicated that another Israeli drone carried out a second raid, targeting the town of Dours, near Dar Al-Amal Hospital in Baalbek district.
In the south, an Israeli helicopter dropped a bomb in the vicinity of workers in the town of Markaba, the sources added.
In a related context, a joint force of the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL was carrying out a field mission between Wadi Al-Asafir and Tell Al-Hamams, when the force’s vicinity came under fire from a tank stationed at a newly established Israeli position.
Moreover, the Israeli forces fired from the newly established position on Jabal Al-Balat towards the outskirts of Aitaroun town.
It is noteworthy that Israeli attacks on Lebanese sovereignty continue in clear violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and the Declaration of Cessation of Hostilities, targeting areas in the south, Bekaa valley, and the southern suburbs of Beirut.
