Yemeni meteorology center warns of severe cold wave across several provinces

SANAA, Jan. 16 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning issued a new warning, on Friday, regarding weather conditions expected to affect several Yemeni governorates over the next 24 hours.

It explained that weather maps indicate a sharp drop in temperatures in the governorates of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Bayda, western Jawf, and northern Ibb, warning of the possible formation of frost, which could severely damage agricultural crops in these areas.

The Early Warning also forecast cold conditions across the highlands of Hajjah, Mahwit, Raymah, Taiz, Lahj, and Abyan, extending to the deserts of Shabwa, Hadramout, and Mahra.

It  advised residents, especially the elderly, children, and those with health conditions, to take necessary precautions. Farmers have been urged to take precautions to protect their crops from potential damage.
