OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Jan. 10 (YPA) – Israeli media reported on Saturday that the Israeli National Cyber Security Authority confirmed that a large number of settlers received text messages (SMS) in English from an unknown source, in what was described as an attempt to sow panic among the settlers.
The Israeli army radio quoted a military source as saying: “Thousands of Israelis reported in recent hours receiving a message on their mobile phones written in English, which included the phrase: ‘We are coming. Look to the sky at midnight.'”
According to initial assessments reported by Israeli media, it is likely that entities linked to Iranian intelligence are behind sending these messages, as part of what is considered psychological warfare activity.
For its part, Channel 12 confirmed that a large number of settlers received the same message, noting that security services are following up on the matter and investigating its source and its technical and security background.
In contrast, many activists discussed reports that Iranian Arabic-language television broadcast a striking message: “Look closely at the skies of Palestine these days,” without providing further details. This increased anticipation and speculation regarding the implications and timing of these messages.
These developments come amid escalating security and media tensions, amidst Hebrew warnings of attempts to spread anxiety and psychological influence through cyberspace.
