7 Palestinians killed, including 5 children due to Israeli attacks at displaced tents, homes in Gaza
GAZA, Jan. 08 (YPA) – The Civil Defense spokesman in Gaza Strip, Dr. Mahmoud Bassal, said on Thursday that Israeli occupation forces committed several crimes against unarmed civilians in the southern and northern parts of the Strip in less than 24 hours, targeting tents and homes sheltering displaced people, which resulted in the deaths of seven Palestinians, including five children, the youngest of whom was five years old.
Bassal explained that these attacks constitute a clear violation of the ceasefire, emphasizing that targeting civilians and shelters is a crime and a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and all international conventions that guarantee the protection of civilians during conflicts.
The Civil Defense spokesman called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and to take immediate action to provide protection for civilians in the Gaza Strip and to stop the ongoing violations against the unarmed population.
