Delcy Rodriguez sworn in as Venezuela’s president after Maduro abduction

CARACAS, Jan. 06 (YPA) – Delcy Rodriguez, formerly Venezuela’s vice president, has been formally sworn in to lead the South American country following the abduction of Nicolas Maduro in a United States military operation.

On Monday, Rodriguez appeared before Venezuela’s National Assembly to take her oath of office in a ceremony held in Caracas.

During the event, Delcy Rodríguez stated: “I come here as President Nicolás Maduro’s vice president, with sorrow for the suffering inflicted upon the people but with honor to guarantee the peace of the nation.”
