Sanaa reveals fate of two Saudi pilots it holds captive

SANAA, Jan. 05 (YPA) – Abdulqader al-Mortada, head of the Sanaa-based Prisoner Affairs Committee, announced that the upcoming agreed-upon prisoner exchange deal will include the two Saudi pilots currently held in Sanaa.

In a statement to Sam FM radio on Monday, al-Mortada explained that the decision to negotiate the pilots’ release follows a message received by the leadership in Sanaa from the Al-Qassam Brigades. The message expressed gratitude for Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi’s efforts in monitoring the case of Hamas detainees held in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Mortada noted that Sanaa had previously linked the fate of the Saudi pilots to that of the Hamas detainees. However, this link was severed after Al-Qassam confirmed that the detainees had completed their trials and that some had already been released, thereby clearing the way for the pilots to be included in the imminent exchange.
