Series of earthquakes hit eastern Gulf of Aden

ADEN, Jan. 04 (YPA) – A series of earthquakes, struck on Sunday the eastern Gulf of Aden off the coasts of Yemen.

The Seismic and Volcanic Monitoring Center in Dhamar, affirmed in a statement that a 4.5-magnitude earthquake occurred at 5:02 p.m. local time.

The statement added that the stations recorded a stronger 5.1-magnitude tremor at 10:10 pm, while the third tremor reached 4.0 degrees, at 10:43 pm.

It pointed out that the fourth tremor with a magnitude of 4.0 also occurred at 11:44 before midnight, indicating that the seismic activities were east of the Gulf of Aden off the Yemeni coast.
