RIYADH, Dec. 31 (YPA) – Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi discussed on Wednesday with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, the latest developments in the Republic of Yemen and explore ways to contain escalating tensions in the eastern part of the country.
Talks focused on the urgent need to calm ongoing military confrontations in the Hadramout and Mahra governorates.
Both sides reaffirmed their support for a comprehensive political solution that guarantees Yemen’s sovereignty and stability, serving the supreme national security interests of neighboring countries.
The ministers discussed the implications of the current crisis on the overall stability of the region.
These Omani diplomatic efforts come amid unprecedented field tensions and rising disputes between regional powers in the eastern governorates. This coincides with official calls from the Presidential Leadership Council demanding the withdrawal of Emirati forces from Yemeni territory—a position Riyadh is reportedly supporting through a specific timeline to end military presence in those areas.
