Hebrew media: Netanyahu to visit US via indirect route amid ICC arrest warrant concerns

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Dec. 28 (YPA) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will take an indirect route to Washington to evade the potential risk posed by an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC), Hebrew daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported Sunday.

In November 2024, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, accusing them of war crimes, including the use of starvation as a method of warfare, and crimes against humanity during the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Israeli radio reported that Netanyahu plans to tell US President Donald Trump that Israel will not proceed with the second phase of the Gaza agreement before Hamas is disarmed and is seeking approval for potential future strikes against Iran.

The Netanyahu-Trump meeting is scheduled for Monday at 22:30 Jerusalem time, preceded by a meeting with US Senator Marco Rubio.

Netanyahu also seeks clarity on Trump’s plan for an international stabilization force in Gaza, with Israel opposing Turkey and Pakistan’s participation while welcoming countries such as Indonesia and Italy.
