GAZA, Dec. 28 (YPA) – The Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Munir al-Barsh, stated that there has been a significant increase in abortions compared to a sharp 40% decrease in the number of births compared to the previous year, with the number of monthly births dropping from 26,000 to only 17,000.
Al-Barsh added that low birth weight has become a widespread phenomenon due to maternal malnutrition and the prevention of the entry of essential nutritional supplements.
Al-Barsh explained that the occupation directly targeted fertility clinics, bombing the Al-Basma Center, which led to the burning of nitrogen pipes and the destruction of approximately 4,000 fully fertilized embryos.
This crime was confirmed by United Nations reports and fact-finding committees, which affirmed that the embryos were preserved in the laboratory according to established scientific procedures.
He emphasized that these figures show the existence of a “premeditated plan,” which Israeli research centers, such as the Herzliya Conference, have long alluded to, warning of the “Palestinian demographic threat” and calling for the necessity of confronting it.
Al-Barsh added that the war provided the ideal opportunity to implement these plans through the direct targeting of the Palestinian population, their health, and their ability to reproduce properly.
