Saudi Arabia to conduct airstrikes on STC positions in Hadramout after Al‑Alimi request

RIYADH, Dec. 27 (YPA) – Media and political sources reported that Saudi forces are preparing a large-scale, targeted air campaign set to begin in the coming hours, signaling a decisive move in Yemen’s eastern governorate.

The imminent airstrikes are reportedly targeting positions and movements of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Hadrami Elite forces in Hadhramaut governorate, in response to a direct and official request from Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council.

A source familiar with the matter confirmed that Rashad al-Alimi submitted a formal request to the Saudi-led coalition, authorizing all necessary military measures—a move widely interpreted as a green light for airstrikes to restore stability and protect civilians.

The move comes after reports of serious violations and hostile actions carried out by the STC, making an aerial intervention, according to authorities, unavoidable to restore balance in the region.

Political and military analysts suggest the next few hours will be critical, as Saudi forces reportedly finalize plans for conducting airstrikes, sending a clear message to the UAE that its strategy in Hadramout will be challenged and potentially thwarted.
