Cold wave brings very low temperatures, frost formation

SANAA, Dec. 22 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based National Center for Meteorology on Monday predicted a cold wave accompanied by the formation of frost in several provinces and mountainous highlands throughout the country.

According to the weather forecast, extremely cold conditions are expected at night and during the early morning hours in the deserts and plateaus of Mahra and Hadramout, as well as in the provinces of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Bayda, Ibb highlands, Dhalea, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, Marib, Hajjah, Mahweet, Rayma, Taiz and Jawf, with the possibility of frost formation in parts of these areas.

The center warned citizens, especially the elderly, children, the patients and night workers, about the low temperatures, and urged farmers to take precautions to protect their crops from frost damage.
