British Minister condemns occupation government’s approval of establishing 19 settlements in West Bank

LONDON, Dec. 22 (YPA) – British Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, Hamish Falconer, condemned on Monday the Israeli government’s approval of establishing 19 new settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, stressing that these settlements are illegal under international law.

In a press statement, Falconer warned that the move threatens to undermine the “20-point plan,” considering that this decision undermines the prospects for lasting peace and security.

The British Minister stressed that peace can only be achieved through a two-state solution.

On Sunday, the Israeli cabinet approved the establishment of 19 new settlements in the occupied West Bank, at the request of the extremist Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich.
