2.3 magnitude earthquake hits Dhamar

DHAMAR, Dec. 21 (YPA) – The Earthquake and Volcano Monitoring Center recorded, on Sunday, an earthquake in northeastern Dhamar governorate, the second in the governorate since November 26.
 
The head of the monitoring center, Engineer Mohammed Hussein Mutahhar Al-Houthi, explained that the earthquake measured 2.3 on the Richter scale and occurred at 6:01 AM, noting that it was located 9 km northeast of Dhamar city.
 
He indicated that the center continues to closely monitor seismic activity through its network spread across various regions.
 
At the end of November, the monitoring stations recorded a minor earthquake measuring 2.3 on the Richter scale, 10 km west of Ma’bar in Jahran district.
