Israeli Knesset committee approves referral of bill to cut water and electricity from UNRWA offices for vote
OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Dec. 17 (YPA)- The Israeli Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Security Committee approved on Tuesday the referral of a bill to cut water and electricity from the offices of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) for a vote.
The committee approved referring the bill for the final two readings required for it to pass into law.
The bill aims at halting UNRWA’s activities and explicitly clarifying that providing properties registered in the agency’s name with electricity and water services would also be considered a prohibited act under the law.
Last week, the Israeli occupation forces stormed UNRWA’s headquarters in occupied East Jerusalem and seized its contents.
