NEW YORK, Dec. 16 (YPA) – Dozens of activists held a protest march in front of the British Consulate in New York to express their support for activists on hunger strike for over forty days in British prisons.
The activists were protesting their detention without trial for their stances and activities supporting Palestinian rights, and Britain’s role in manufacturing weapons used in attacks on civilians in Gaza.
Participants carried signs demanding the immediate release of the detainees, guarantees of a fair trial for them, and an end to supplying Israel with weapons that continue to fuel the conflict.
The protesters chanted slogans condemning the policies of the British government, emphasizing that the continued detention of the activists, coupled with the ongoing flow of weapons, constitutes a form of complicity in the killing and suffering.
