Employees in Latakia protest against arbitrary dismissal decisions, demand their cancellation

SANAA, Dec. 15 (YPA) – A number of dismissed employees staged a protest, on Monday, in front of the Cultural Center building in Latakia, western Syria, rejecting recent dismissal decisions issued against them, describing them as arbitrary and not based on any clear legal framework.

Local sources reported that the protesters expressed their dissatisfaction with the dismissal decisions issued by the Syrian Transitional Government, stressing that they were affected without any explanation of the reasons or adherence to the applicable legal procedures, which negatively impacted their employment and living conditions.

The participants raised slogans demanding the cancellation of the dismissal decisions and their review, emphasizing the need to respect employment rights and adopt transparent legal standards in any administrative procedures affecting employees’ livelihoods.
