Civil Defense in Gaza recovers bodies of 48 martyrs from temporary graves at Baptist Hospital

GAZA, Dec. 07 (YPA) – The Civil Defense crews in Gaza announced, on Sunday, that they had recovered the bodies of 48 martyrs from temporary graves inside the Arab Baptist Hospital in Gaza City, in preparation for their reburial in official cemeteries according to established procedures.

In a press statement, the Civil Defense explained that among the recovered bodies were 25 unidentified individuals who had been temporarily buried inside the hospital during periods of aggression, pointing out that all bodies were handed over to the relevant authorities and forensic medicine to complete examination and documentation procedures.

The statement said that the crews will begin a similar operation on Monday in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Medical Complex to transfer the bodies buried within its walls to official cemeteries, in coordination with the Ministries of Health and Religious Endowments.

The Civil Defense called on the families of the martyrs to attend the procedures for transferring the bodies to help identify those whose identities are still unknown and to ensure that the burials are completed according to Sharia and legal principles.
