Russian air defenses down 77 Ukrainian drones overnight over several regions

MOSCOW, Dec. 07 (YPA) -Russian air defense forces shot down 77 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over various regions of Russia overnight, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Sunday.

According to the ministry, the drones were detected across several regions as air-defense alert systems were activated in response to what it described as a large-scale Ukrainian drone strike attempt.

“Over the past night, air defense alert systems intercepted and destroyed 77  drones: 42 drones were destroyed in the Saratov Region, 12 in the Rostov Region, 10 over Crimea, nine in the Volgograd Region, two in the Belgorod Region, and one each in Astrakhan and Chechnya,” the statement said.
