BRUSSELS, Dec. 05 (YPA) – The national broadcasting stations in Ireland, Spain, and the Netherlands have said that they would not take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 after the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) decided to allow Israel’s participation in the upcoming competition.
They were among a number of countries who had called for Israel to be excluded over the war in Gaza and accusations of unfair voting practices.
At the meeting, EBU members voted to adopt tougher contest voting rules in response to allegations that Israel manipulated the vote in favor of their contestants, but took no action to exclude any broadcaster from the competition.
