Sanaa Government celebrates 58th Independence Day anniversary, affirming tribes’ readiness for ‘liberation battle’

SANAA, Nov. 29 (YPA) – The Sanaa government on Saturday organized a celebratory event to mark the 58th anniversary of the Independence Day, which corresponds to November 30, the anniversary of the evacuation of the last British soldier from the south of the country.

The Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, Daif Allah Rassam, offered congratulations on the occasion, saluting the tribes that waged heroic battles against the British colonizer and the new invaders and occupiers.

Rassam affirmed the readiness of Yemen’s tribes to enter the battle for the liberation of “the occupied governorates,” in reference to the eastern and southern governorates controlled by the Saudi-led coalition.

For his part, the Governor of Hadramout governorate, Luqman Baras, stressed that the celebration comes amidst regional and international changes that necessitate alignment and cohesion to preserve the nation’s unity and sovereignty.

Meanwhile, the Mufti of Taiz governorate, Allama Alawi Bin Aqeel, called for drawing lessons from the steadfastness of the early revolutionaries in the face of the new occupiers and their tools.

The event included artistic performances and poetry recitations.
