GAZA, Nov. 27 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) stated on Thursday that human rights statistics confirming the killing of more than 94 Palestinian detainees inside the occupation’s prisons, since the beginning of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, reflect a systematic criminal approach that has turned prisons into direct killing fields for eliminating the Palestinian people.
In its statement, Hamas warned of the grave violations endured by our heroic prisoners, documented through live testimonies and credible rights groups’ reports—including severe beating, scalding with boiling water, dog attacks, alongside sexual assaults.
“These practices constitute full-fledged war crimes under international humanitarian laws and expose the bloody nature of the occupation regime in employing a system of torture and abuse that violate all international laws and conventions,” the statement read.
Hamas stressed that the continued international silence regarding this level of brutal torture and the failure to hold accountable the occupation leaders who directly supervise these crimes, represents an open authorization for the occupation to continue killing within detention cells.
The Movement called on the states, the UN, the International Committee of the Red Cross, all rights and legal groups, and free people worldwide to take urgent action and exert all forms of pressure to stop the occupation’s crimes against prisoners and guarantee their rights as ensured by all international conventions and norms.
